This policy explains what information The Proposal Shortlist ("we", "us") collects through theproposalshortlist.com, why, and your choices. Questions? Email [email protected].
What we collect
- Email sign-ups: right now the free Scorecard is a direct download and we don't ask for your email. If we add an email sign-up and you choose to use it, we'll collect your email address and any optional answers you give, and this policy will cover that information.
- Purchases: when you buy a guide, payment is handled by our third-party payment provider. We receive your name, email address, billing country, and order details so we can deliver your purchase and handle refunds. We never see or store your full card number.
- Emails you send us: whatever you choose to include.
- Basic technical data: the site is a static website hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Which link brought you here: if you arrive from a tagged link (for example one of our social posts), we keep its campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, such as "instagram / bio") in your browser's session storage for that tab. They are added to our checkout links and to any sign-up you choose to make, so we can see which posts are useful. If there's no tag, we record "direct".
- Site analytics: we don't currently use an analytics service, advertising pixels, or tracking cookies on this site. If we add privacy-friendly analytics, we'll name the service here first.
How we use it
- To deliver what you download or buy.
- If you sign up for email: to send what you asked for and occasional proposal-planning emails. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To answer support and refund requests.
- To understand which posts and pages are useful, reviewed in aggregate.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Who processes it for us
Cloudflare hosts the website. If you buy something, our payment provider processes the payment and your order details. If you sign up for email, our email service provider stores your address and sends the emails. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
Cookies and storage
This website doesn't set its own cookies. It uses your browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab, only to remember which link brought you here. Checkout and sign-up pages run by our providers may use cookies needed for security and fraud prevention.
How long we keep it
We keep email subscriber data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing [email protected]. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have additional rights, and we'll honor them.
Children
Our products are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it on this page and change the date above.
